Instagram carousel downloader

Paste a link to a public carousel and save the whole post as a .zip, with photos and videos in the post's order.

Free, no sign-up, and no copy kept on our server.

  1. Copy the carousel link

In the Instagram app, open the post, tap the paper plane (Share), then Copy link. The link covers the whole post, so it doesn’t matter which photo is on screen.

  2. Tap Paste

The search starts on its own. You can also paste the link into the field and tap Download.

  3. Tap Download all

It’s at the top of Your files and shows how many files go in the .zip.

A carousel link has /p/ in the middle: instagram.com/p/ followed by a code. On a computer, the address sometimes ends with ?img_index= and a number, which marks the photo that was on screen. You don’t need to delete it.

What’s in the .zip

A carousel can have up to 20 photos and videos. The .zip holds all of them, in the post’s order:

  • Photos at the size Instagram stores, up to 1080 pixels wide, with no extra compression.
  • Videos as MP4, at the best quality Instagram serves for that post.
  • Names in order. The .zip is named instagram- plus the post code. Inside, each file ends with the item’s number: -1, -2, -3. That keeps the photos in the carousel’s order.

Sound isn’t in the .zip. If a video in the carousel has audio, the list ends with Download audio, which saves the sound as an MP3. The Instagram audio downloader page explains that button.

If you only want a few photos, you don’t need the .zip: each photo and video has its own button, right under Download all. The Instagram photo downloader page covers photo size and quality.

How to open the .zip

  • iPhone: Safari saves it to the Files app, in Downloads. Tap the .zip and it turns into a folder. To send everything to Photos, open the folder, tap the three dots, then Select, pick the photos and tap Share > Save Images.
  • Android: in your file manager, open the Download folder, tap the .zip and choose Extract. The folder with the photos then shows up in your gallery.
  • Windows: right-click the .zip, choose Extract All, then Extract.
  • Mac: double-click the .zip. Your Mac creates a folder with the files next to it.

The guides for iPhone, Android and computers show each screen.

Where the file goes

Each device saves it in a different place. On iPhone, the file goes to the Files app, not to Photos.

  • The .zip download fails halfway. It’s almost always the connection. If an item can’t be downloaded, the .zip stops and the browser marks the download as failed, instead of handing you an incomplete file. Try again, or download the items one by one.
  • The links expired. Links last about 15 minutes. Tap Get new links and download right away.
  • Nothing happens when I tap the button. You’re probably in Instagram’s built-in browser, which often blocks downloads. Open the site in Safari or Chrome.
  • The post won’t open. Private account, deleted post or a profile link. See Instagram video won’t download for each message.

Image rights

Saving a carousel to keep, like photos from an event you went to or a work reference, is personal use. To post it again, use it in an ad or in materials, ask the photographer for permission and, if there are people in the photos, ask them too. Rights holders can ask for a post to be blocked on the removal page.

Frequently asked questions

What is a .zip file?

It’s a compressed folder in a single file. Inside are the carousel’s photos and videos, named after the post with each item’s number. Phones and computers open .zip files without installing anything.

How do I open the .zip on iPhone?

Safari saves it to the Files app, in the Downloads folder. Tap it and it turns into a folder. To move the photos to Photos, open the folder, tap the three dots, then Select, pick everything and use Share.

And on Android?

Open your file manager (Files, Files by Google or your phone maker’s app), tap the .zip in the Download folder and choose Extract. The photos show up in a folder and then in your gallery.

Is the audio in the .zip?

No. The .zip only has the photos and videos. If a video in the carousel has sound, Download audio, in the same list, gives you the sound as an MP3.

How many items fit?

All of them. An Instagram carousel holds up to 20 photos and videos, and the .zip takes them all.

Why don't I see Download all?

It only shows up when the post has 2 or more photos or videos. For a single photo or a Reel, use that file’s own button.

Does the site keep the carousel's photos?

No. The .zip is put together the moment you tap the button, straight from Instagram to your device, with no copy on our server.

Does it work with private accounts?

No. Only posts from public accounts work.
