QR code types
| Type | What happens when scanned | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Link | Opens the website or profile | Menus, catalogs, Instagram, forms |
| Text | Shows the text on screen | Notes, coupon codes, instructions |
| Wi-Fi | Offers to join the network | Restaurants, offices, guest rooms |
| Opens a chat with a ready message | Counters, packaging, business cards |
The WhatsApp QR code uses the same link as the WhatsApp link generator, which also works for your Instagram bio.
Printing without headaches
- Contrast: a black code on a white background, as it comes from here. Dark or colored backgrounds make it harder to read.
- Margin: keep the white border around the code. It’s part of the QR code.
- Size: at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide for close reading; bigger for posters.
- File: for a print shop, send the SVG, which scales up without losing sharpness.
- Test: scan it with more than one phone before printing many copies.
No expiry, no tracking
Many generators create a link in the middle, which counts visits and may stop working when the free plan ends. Here the content goes straight into the drawing: the code doesn’t expire, doesn’t go through any website and doesn’t log who scanned it.
We don’t store anything either. The code is made in your browser, and what you type never reaches our server.

Frequently asked questions
Does the QR code expire?
No. The content is inside the drawing itself, with no website in between. It works as long as the link, the network or the number exists.
What kinds of QR codes can I make?
A website or profile link, free text, Wi-Fi (the phone joins without typing the password) and WhatsApp (opens a chat with a ready message).
How does the Wi-Fi QR code work?
It stores the network name, the password and the security type. The iPhone and Android camera offers to join the network, with nothing to type. The name and password must match the router exactly.
PNG or SVG?
PNG for phones, posts and documents; choose 1024 or 2048 px to print. SVG for print shops and design programs: it scales up without losing sharpness.
What’s the minimum print size?
A good rule is at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide for close-up scanning, like on a card. On a poster read from far away, the code needs to be much bigger. Always test before printing.
Can I make a payment QR code?
Not here. Payment codes, like Brazil’s Pix, have their own format with check codes, and a mistake there affects money. Create them in your bank’s app.
Does the site keep what I type?
No. The code is made in your browser. The link, the Wi-Fi password and the number never reach our server.
Can I change the link after printing?
No. The link is written into the drawing. If the address may change, use a link you control, like your own website, and change where it points there.
Why does my QR code have so many little squares?
The more text, the denser the code. Short links and texts make simpler codes that cameras read faster and from farther away.
