How to save the audio from an Instagram Reel as MP3
Updated on October 18, 2026
You can download just the sound from a public Instagram Reel or video as an MP3. It’s handy for listening to a talk again, keeping part of a class, or using the sound in a video editor. The steps are the same as downloading the video; only the button changes.
Step by step
- Copy the Reel’s link. In the Instagram app, open the Reel, tap the paper plane (Share), then Copy link.
- Paste it here. Open pegaclip.com.br in your browser, tap Paste and wait for Your files.
- Tap Download audio. The button shows the MP3 format and the length. The file downloads right away.
In a carousel with several videos, each video has its own audio button, with the video’s number.
Where the MP3 goes
- iPhone: in the Files app, in the Downloads folder. The Photos app doesn’t keep audio, so the file stays in Files, where you can play it or open it in an editor.
- Android: in the Downloads folder, which you’ll find in your phone’s file manager (Files, Files by Google or your phone maker’s app).
- Computer: in the Downloads folder.
The file name starts with instagram- followed by the post code.
Instagram’s “Save audio” is something else
On a sound’s page, Instagram has a Save audio option. It saves the sound to your account, under Saved, so you can use it in your own Reels inside the app. It doesn’t create a file on your phone. To get the MP3, use the site.
Music has an owner
Many Reels use commercial songs. The MP3 you download includes the song, but not a license to use it.
- To listen or study, without posting it, that’s fine.
- To use it in your own Reel, pick the sound from Instagram’s own library, which is licensed for that. Music added from outside may be muted or get your video removed.
- To use it somewhere else, like a YouTube video or an ad, you need permission from whoever owns the rights.
Talks, classes and original sounds have authors too. If you’re going to post it again, ask for permission and give credit.
FAQ
Can I download the audio from a Story?
No. The site only works with Reels and public feed posts.
The post is just photos with music. Can I get the sound?
When Instagram serves the music with the photos, the list shows a Download audio button. If it doesn’t show up, that post has no audio that can be downloaded.
Is the MP3 good quality?
It’s the sound Instagram serves with the video. The file is converted to MP3 so it opens on any device.
I want the whole video, not just the sound.
Use Download video in the same list. Steps for each device are in the guides for iPhone, Android and computer.
